Strong results in Liverpool
Apex’s first targeted national qualifier meet of the season went underway at Liverpool this weekend. With most of the club competing at cosacss, those who preferred some long course competition did not disappoint. Competing against clubs as far as Millfield and the Yorkshire Dales, there were many swimmers with the aim of posting good times in the window and every swimmer from Apex delivered with strong performances. Joe and Finn produced times which put them inside the rankings in multiple events, including a strong 400 IM pb for Joe and a 13 second long course 400 free pb for Finn. Helena knocked 10 seconds off from just 2 weeks ago in her 800 and carried on the large Improvements all the way down to 200 free Zara raced some events for the 1st time in a long course environment as well as improving on all her swims. Arthur, Ben, Charli and Mary did huge personal bests whilst older swimmers Stephen and Simon used the meet for race practice and will take valuable experience from their races this weekend. I cannot single out a single person for helping me this weekend as the whole team encouraged each other and showed great professionalism once again, making the weekend very enjoyable. Next up: West Midland Champs in 3 weeks.
