Swim England Winter Championships

The Swim england winter champs saw Finn travel to sheffield for the 100 and 200 freestyle and he did not disappoint. The aim of sub 2 minutes was smashed with a 1:58.57. A 2.4 second pb and well under the British champ consideration time of 1:59.9. The 100 free was another perfectly executed race to better the pb of 55.18 which was a medal winning time at the English summer champs. 54.51 and the 1:58 was good enough to come 8th our of the 15 year olds and hopefully be enough to qualify for the championships at Edinburgh in March. Surely many people are proud and Finn showed great professionalism once again

Good Luck to Finn Nicholl at the Winter Nationals

Good luck to Finn Nicholl who will be competing in the 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle at the Swim England Winter National Championships. The Winter Nationals take place over 5 days from 13-17 December 2017 and are being covered by the BBC on their digital platform. For more information see http://www.swimming.org/sport/bbc-broadcast-swim-england-national-winter-championships-2017/. We would also like to wish good luck to Tom Derbyshire, who will be representing Bath University at the Winter Nationals, but who began his swimming career at Stafford Apex and is still a club member.

A Huge Thank-you to everyone who helped at the Open Meet over the weekend. To Lucy Turner, the Meet Manager, for running a smooth event, to all the Officials who gave their time, to the people who manned the door and raffle, to the volunteers who manned the medals table, ran the refreshments, manned the computers, looked after the swimmers poolside, ran the sweet stall, ran the chocolate tombola, organised the raffle, donated chocolate and items for the hampers. And thanks to anyone whose job I have failed to list! We cannot run these events without a whole army of volunteers and we would like to thank all of you for giving us your time.
