Great Results at Counties Day 2

To get the day off to a great start, Ben Cope became Senior Staffordshire County Champion for the 400 IM. Joe Stratton won an age group gold medal.

In the Girls 200 backstroke age group finals, team Apex won 1 silver (Anise McCausland) and 1 bronze (Lily Kemp).

We then had another Senior County Champion (and Junior at the same time) when Finn Nicholl won the 100m Freestyle. In fact Apex had 5 of 8 swimmers in the Championship final. Well done to Jack Rowe, Ben Cope, Simon Hadfield and Tom Watkin.

In the 100m Breaststroke, Morgan Lerpiniere won Silver in her Age group and made her first appearance in a Championship Final.

Team Apex followed all this up with an age group bronze medal for Toby Meakin in the boys 200m Butterfly, 2 bronzes (Lily Kemp and Anise McCausland) in the girls age group 50m backstroke and 2 silver (Edward Austin & Simon Hadfield) and 1 bronze (Joe Stratton) in the boys 50m freestyle event.

In the 400m freestyle, Anise McCausland and Issy Aspinall won Gold medals in their age groups, and Ella Shaw claimed bronze in hers.

Well done to all those who reached finals, always an achievement!
