Apex win Top Club at Northgate PB Buster

What a weekend we had at the Pb buster! As usual everyone swam their hardest with several receiving county times and some achieving midland times, and many very close (which I'm sure will be achieved next weekend). Also, congratulations to Simon Bott, Amanda and Graham Ball as well as Harrison for passing their timekeeping practical at the gala (and Helena too - Ed). As always thank you to the coaches and volunteers for supporting the team all weekend.

Apex finish 2nd in Staffs League Final

Well done to all of our swimmers last night at the Staffs League final. We pushed Chase all the way but came a close second in the end. It was a fantastic effort and we beat the likes of Bilston,Wolverhampton,Cosaccs and Lichfield. A special well done to all of our younger swimmers who coped well with the nerves and put in some fantastic swims. The team spirit was awesome as usual and Lucas led the choir with his air horn. A huge thanks to the parents and coaches for their support. We look forward to our open meet next weekend and we will try even harder next year to try and get that Staffs League trophy!

Midlands Winter Championships 2017

Racing over for Stafford Apex team of 5 at the Midland winter champs in Nottingham. Mixed results from all swimmers who all aren’t used to competing long course this early in the season. Used as a ‘commonwealth qualifier’ the meet was changed from short course for this year. The standard at this meet was very high and surely gives each athlete valuable experience. Finn was just outside his pb for the 100 &200m freestyle but came 6th and 5th in the 15/under age group and with 2 winter national times already in the bag, the aim of qualifying for British champs in both events can still happen With one consideration time already. Stephen didn’t have the greatest of meets choosing to swim in the
